Der offene Sternhaufen NGC2264 im Sternbild Monoceros.
Dieser Sternhaufen wird auch als Weihnachtsbaum bezeichnet.
Allerdings steht dieser auf der Spitze. Umgeben ist diese Sternhaufen
von Emissions- und Reflektionsnebeln. Diese formen u.a. den sogenannten
Konusnebel. Unten rechts im Bild erkennt man noch klein Hubbles Variablen Nebel
NGC2261.
The open cluster NGC2264 in the constellation Monoceros. This cluster is also called "The Christmas Tree". But this tree is upside down. The cluster is embedded into wider emission and reflection nebulae. Part of this nebulosity is the so called "Cone Nebula". In the lower right of the image also "Hubble's Variable Nebula" NGC2261 can be seen. |
